Vegetarian Burger Recipe - 8


Mexican Burger


Ingredients:
1/2 cup - Oil
5 No - Burger buns
1/2 cup - Kidney beans Eden Organic Kidney Beans, 15-Ounce Unit (Pack of 12)
1 cup - Potatoes boiled mashed
1 No - Onion finely chopped
2 tbsp - Black olives finely chopped Musco Black Pearl Olives, Sliced (Pack of 24)
1 No - Green Peppers finely chopped
5 No - Bread crumbs
1 tsp - Garlic grated
1/4 tsp - Green chillies finely chopped
1 tsp - Fresh basil leaves finely chopped
2 tbsp - Corn flour
1/2 tsp - Cayenne peppers
1 tsp - Taco seasoning
1/4 tsp - Cumin powder
Salt to taste


Garnish:
4 No - Lettuce leaves
1/2 cup - Salsa


Method:
Heat oil in a frying pan over medium flame and saute onions and green peppers for about a min.
Put the kidney beans in a separate bowl. Lightly mash of 1/2 them and leave the rest as it is.
Now mix all the ingredients and seasonings.
Grind the bread crumbs and add them in the above mix with some corn flour to get a firm dough.
If you feel more seasoning is needed increase as per taste or if extra corn flour is needed for binding then add some.
Roll out the dough to make patties.

Heat a heavy based pan (preferably cast iron) and add 2-3 tbsp of oil.
Place the patties on it and let it cook till brown. Then reverse the side and do the same.
Serve with salsa, lettuce and sour cream as an accompaniment.
