Vegetable RecipesVegetarian Burger Recipe - 6Chinese Burger
Ingredients: 5 No - Burger buns 1/2 cup - Oil 1/2 No - Green Peppers finely chopped 1/2 cup - Kidney or Pinto Beans 1 cup - Tofu 3 No - Green onion white finely chopped 4 tbsp - Spring greens or leeks finely chopped 1/4 cup - Mushrooms finely chopped 1 tbsp - Soy sauce 1 tsp - Garlic chopped 2 tbsp - Corn flour 4 No - Bread crumbs 1/2 cup - Plum sauce (thick consistency) 1/2 tsp - Five spice powder Dynasty Chinese Five Spice Powder 5 No - Lettuce leaves Method: Heat oil in a frying pan over high flame. Add the mushrooms and briefly fry for a min. Add peppers, green onions and plum sauce and fry further for a min or two. Remove from heat and set aside. Break the tofu in a food processor or mash it well. Combine all the ingredients along with the seasonings. Grind the bread crumbs and add them in the above mix with some corn flour to get a firm dough. If you feel more seasoning is needed increase as per taste or if extra corn flour is needed for binding then add some. Roll out the dough to make patties. Heat a heavy based pan (preferably cast iron) and add 2-3 tbsp of oil. Place the patties on it and let it cook till brown. Then reverse the side and do the same. Serve with ketchup lettuce leaves or any other sauce of your preference. Move to burger main page Return to homepage |
