Tomato Sauce RecipeTomato Sauce Recipe
Ingredients: 2 tbsp - Olive oil 1 No - Bay leaf 1 cup - Onion finely chopped 1/4 tsp - Sugar (optional) 3 No - Garlic cloves minced 4 tbsp - Tomato paste 1/8 tsp - Pepper 1 tbsp - Fresh basil chopped 9 No - Tomatoes peeled, seeded, and chopped 1/4 tsp - Oregano and Thyme (dried) Salt to taste Free spice sample of your choice click here Method: Heat olive oil in a sauce pan and add the bay leaf. Add onions and saute till tender. Chop the 8 tomatoes and puree in blender or food processor strain and set aside. Chop the 2 remaining tomatoes and set aside. Add the tomatoes, garlic, herb and seasoning. If you find the sauce sour, you can add some sugar to it. Let the mix simmer for a while for about 10-15 mins. You can roast and puree the tomatoes and add. Muir Glen Organic Tomato Sauce If you wish to thicken the mix you can add some flour, or a mix of cheese and cream prior to using. Do not add them if you intend to store the sauce. You can store the sauce in a air tight container in the refrigerator. Freeze and use within 14 days.
