Salad Recipes – Sprout Salad
A variety of healthy foods which is seeds, nuts, and grains are mixed to make a sprout salad. This salad is a good source of antioxidants, low calories, rich in proteins and vitamins that help to restore nutritional imbalances as well as prevent many diseases.
Medicinally and nutritionally, the use of sprouts dates back to ancient china approx, 6000 years ago, where it was used to cure many disorders. In fact in the 1700s sailors were given limes, lemons and varieties of sprouts to combat scurvy (deficiency of vitamin C).
There are several vegetables that blend well with sprouts some of which are tomatoes, onions and cucumbers, which can be seasoned with dressings and served.
Ingredients:
1 tsp – Oil
1 cup – Mixed sprouts
1/2 cup – Panner diced
2 tbsp – Yogurt
2 tbsp – Coriander leaves
1 No – Green chilli chopped
1 tsp – Curry leaves chopped
Salt to taste
Method:
Mix all the seasonings along with the sprouts.
Heat oil add curry leaves and then mix it in the salad.
Variation
Ingredients:
1/4 cup – Green gram sprouted
1 No – Onion diced
1 No – Green pepper diced
1 No – Cucumber diced
1 No – Potato boiled diced
1/4 tsp – Green chilli finely chopped
1 tbsp – Dry mango powder
1 tbsp – Chaat masala
1 tbsp – Coriander finely chopped
Pinch or two of cumin powder
Salt to taste

Method:
Mix all the dry ingredients first and then add vegetables and serve. If needed adjust seasoning as per taste.
You can use mixed sprouts instead of green grams alone.
