Savoury Rice


Ingredients:
3 tbsp - Oil
1 cup - Basmati Rice
1 No - Potato chopped
1 No - Onion chopped
1 tsp - Cumin seeds
1 1/2 tsp - Lemon juice
1 tsp - Ginger long finely chopped
3 No - Green Chillies finely chopped
1/4 tsp - Turmeric
Salt to taste


Method:
Heat oil a pan and when hot add cumin. When the cumin spilt add onions and saute till brown.
Then add the potatoes, ginger and green chillies and fry.
Add turmeric with the lemon juice.
Add the cooked rice and let it simmer for a while. Texmati Long Grain American Basmati White Rice



Recipe - 18


Methi Pulao


Ingredients:
2 tbsp - Oil
1 cup - Rice
1/2 tsp - Black gram (dhuli urad)
1/2 tsp - Split chick pea (channa dal)
1/2 tsp - Sesame seeds roasted
5 tbsp - Tamarind juice
1/2 tsp - Cumin seeds
1/4 tsp - Jaggery
1 No - Green chilli
2 tbsp - Coconut grated
1/2 cup - Fenugreek leaves
1 tsp - Coriander powder
Pinch of turmeric
Salt to taste

Method:
Mix the jaggery with tamarind and set aside.
Heat the oil in a pan, add cumin once it splinters add gram, pea, sesame and coconut and fry till brownish.
Add the remaining spices and cook for a 1-2 mins.
Add the fenugreek leaves and let the mix cook till done.
Then add the cooked rice mix well and serve.
