Pizza Sauce Recipe
Introduction of tomatoes (18th century) in the Italian cuisine gave the world pizzas.
To begin with there is the basic tomato sauce. But a lot of variations can be made in this base sauce possible to create a great pizza sauce. The Art of Pizza Making: Trade Secrets and Recipes
Ingredients:
2 tbsp – Olive oil or Butter
1-2 tbspĀ – Tomato paste
1/4 cup – Brown stock
5 No – Tomatoes deseeded blanched peeled or
1 No – Tin tomatoes
1 No – Onion finely chopped
1 tsp – Garlic minced
2 tbsp – Basil fresh
1/4 tsp – Sugar (optional)
1/2 tsp – Chilli powder or Paprika
Pepper to taste
Salt to taste
Method:
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and add basil, onion and garlic, saute till colour changes.
Add the remaining ingredients and mix well.
Reduce to a simmer and let the sauce cook for about 15 mins.
Add sugar only if you find the taste sour or spicy.
