Lentil Stew – Spinach Stew
Ingredients:
1 tbsp – Oil
1 No – Bay leaf
2 No – Shallot chopped
1 inch – Ginger chopped
5 No – Garlic chopped
2 No – Red chillies chopped
1/4 tsp – Cumin powder
1 inch – Cinnamon stick
1 tsp – Garam Masala or curry powder
1 cup – Brown lentil LENTILS, BROWN ( SPANISH PARDINA )
3 cup – Water
1/2 cup – Buttermilk thick
1 cup – Spinach chopped
Salt to taste
Method:
Grind the ginger, garlic and chillies without water.
Heat oil in a pan add the bay leaf, shallots and above paste and fry for 2 mins.
Add the spinach and powders, lime juice and cook for 2 mins.
Add butter milk, water and lentils and let the mix simmer.
