Lentil Recipes – Mouglai Dal

Ingredients:
1 tbsp – Ghee
1 cup – Tuvar dal (split pigeon pea) Tuvar Dal Indian Lentils
1 tbsp – Garlic crushed
1/4 tsp – Cumin seeds
3 No – Cloves
1/2 tsp – Green chillies chopped
3 tbsp – Fried onions
Salt to taste

Mix
1/2 cup – Curd beaten
1/4 cup – Milk
4 tbsp – Cream
1/4 tsp – Saffron
1/4 tsp – Ginger powder
1/4 tsp – Cardamom powder

Method:
Soak dal overnight. Boil it in 3 cups of water till tender or steam in 2 cups of water.
Prepare the mix ingredients and set aside.
Fry onions and set aside.
Heat ghee in a frying pan then add cumin seeds once they crackle add the rest excpt dal and cook for 1-2 mins.
Then add the mix ingredients and cook for 2-3 mins.
Add the dal and mix well. Let it simmer for a while 5-7 mins.
Garnish with fried onions and serve hot.
