Lentil Recipes – Mixed Black Dal
Ingredients:
1/4 cup – Green Gram (Moong) Green Lentils
2/3 cup – Brown Whole (Masur)
1/4 cup – Brown beans sprouted (Mauth)
2 tbsp – Ghee
1/2 tsp – Cumin seeds
5 No – Garlic clove finely chopped
1 inch – Ginger finely chopped
1/2 tsp – Red chilli powder
2 No – Onion chopped
2 tbsp – Coriander fresh
1 tsp – Corinader powder
1/4 tsp – Garam masala
Salt to taste

Method:
Soak the dal overnight and then steam it in 2.5 cups of water. Two whistles and then turn to a low flame for 5-7 mins or till done.
Heat ghee in pan and when it sizzles add cumin seeds and onion.
When the onions start turning brown add the ginger, chilli, garlic to it and let them cook for a while.
Add the dal. Simmer and cook till done.
Garnish with coriander.
Option: You can leave out the mauth if you want. Then change the measurement to 3/4 Masur and 1/4 Moong.
