Lentil Recipes - 9


Cholay or Chick peas Curry


Ingredients:
4 tbsp - Oil
1 1/2 cup - Chick peas
4-5 No - Garlic finely chopped
1 inch - Ginger finely chopped
3 No - Onion medium finely chopped
1 tsp - Dry mango powder or Lemon Juice
3 tbsp - Red chilli paste
1 tbsp - Garam Masala
1/2 cup - Tomato puree
3 tbsp - Tomato paste
1 tbsp - Coriander Powder
1/4 tsp - Dates paste
1 tbsp - Cholay Masala
Salt to taste


Method:
Soak the chick peas over night in 2 cups of water.
Steam the chick peas in the morning.
Take a cup of water add some tea leaves and boil let it cool.
Then add that water to the chick peas.

Heat oil in a pan and add onions and fry till brown.
Add ginger garlic and cook for a 1-2 mins.
Add the red chilli paste and remaining dry ingredients.
Add the tomatoes and cook the masala till it leaves oil (7-10 mins).
Mash about 1/4 cup of the chickpeas then add the rest with some water and let the mix cook (20 mins). Buy Kitchens Of India Ready To Eat Pindi Chana, Chick Pea Curry

For best results use MTR or Mangal Punjabi cholay masala. Buy MTR Chana Masala



Lentil Recipes - 10


Rajma or Kidney beans Curry


Ingredients:
2 cup - Kidney beans
4-5 No - Garlic finely chopped
1 inch - Ginger finely chopped
3 No - Onion medium finely chopped
1 tsp - Red chilly powder or paste
1/4 tsp - Garam Masala
1/4 cup - Tomato pureed
3 tbsp - Tomato paste
1 tbsp - Coriander powder
2 pinches turmeric
Salt to taste


Method:
Wash the beans thoroughly and soak them over night in 2 cups of water.
Steam the beans in the morning.

Heat oil in pan and then add onions to it.
When the onion starts turning brown add ginger garlic to it and let them cook for a while.
Add the tomatoes and masala and let the mixture cook till oil oozes from the sides 7-10 mins. Buy MTR Rajma Masala
Mash about 1/4 cup of the beans then add the rest with some water and let the mix cook (20 mins). Buy Kitchens Of India Ready To Eat Rajma Masala, Red Kidney Bean Currry
