Lentil RecipesLentil Recipes - 9 Cholay or Chick peas Curry
Ingredients: 4 tbsp - Oil 1 1/2 cup - Chick peas 4-5 No - Garlic finely chopped 1 inch - Ginger finely chopped 3 No - Onion medium finely chopped 1 tsp - Dry mango powder or Lemon Juice 3 tbsp - Red chilli paste 1 tbsp - Garam Masala 1/2 cup - Tomato puree 3 tbsp - Tomato paste 1 tbsp - Coriander Powder 1/4 tsp - Dates paste 1 tbsp - Cholay Masala Salt to taste Method: Soak the chick peas over night in 2 cups of water. Steam the chick peas in the morning. Take a cup of water add some tea leaves and boil let it cool. Then add that water to the chick peas. Heat oil in a pan and add onions and fry till brown. Add ginger garlic and cook for a 1-2 mins. Add the red chilli paste and remaining dry ingredients. Add the tomatoes and cook the masala till it leaves oil (7-10 mins). Mash about 1/4 cup of the chickpeas then add the rest with some water and let the mix cook (20 mins). Add the tomatoes and masala and let the mixture cook till oil oozes from the sides 7-10 mins.
