Lasagna Recipes

Today we have a variety of Lasagna recipes made from an assortment of ingredients ranging from fresh vegetables, to minced meats, bean based made usually in tomato sauce and cheese.
But if one dates back to the origin of lasagna it is quite interesting.
The earliest reference of lasagna started with the Greeks, where they termed it ‘lasanon’, which means “chamber pot”. Romans borrowed the word to refer to cooking pots and eventually the word was used for noodles which were traditionally layered in a lasanum, a Roman lasagna dish.

In Italy, lasagna are totally flat, while those in America are ruffled around the edges in order to trap the sauce. The best found lasagne noodles are usually made from durum wheat, though many other varieties such as semolina, plain, are available. Bean Lasagna

Ingredients:
Few lasagna sheets
2 tbsp – Butter
1 cup – Red sauce
1 cup – White sauce
1 cup – Cheese
1/2 cup – Corns boiled
1/2 cup – Kidney Beans
1/4 cup – Peppers
1 No – Onion large
1 tbsp – Basil
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste

Method:
In a heavy saucepan, heat oil and saute onion and garlic until translucent.
Then add the vegetables and cook till soft.

Heat water in a pot and drop the lasagne sheets and let them cook for while. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on a plate till cools. Quality Italian Lasagna Lasgna Sheets

Add 2 spoons of the vegetable mix and add some cheese and roll the sheet.

Bake till golden brown.
You can replace the filling with any vegetable of your choice. You could use purely spinach or a mix of spinach and vegetables.
