Cooking Pasta

Fill water in a large stock pot or pan.
The water should always be more than the quantity of pasta, so that the pasta is well immersed.
Heat water in a pasta pot (Prime Pacific Stainless Steel Pasta Pot Set) and bring to a boil. Then add the pasta. Through out the cooking time keep stirring the pasta, to prevent it from sticking to the base of the pan.
Usually the pasta should cook within 10 mins. Remove some and taste to know whether it has cooked or not. The pasta shouldn’t be too hard or too soft (tender enough to bite into).

It is a common misconception, that adding oil will prevent the pasta from sticking.
The only thing that you can add is salt to the water. It not only hastens the cooking process, but gives the pasta a better flavour.
After the pasta is cooked drain off the water in you kitchen sink.
Ideally 1 litre = 1/4 tsp salt.
