Best Appetizer Recipes – Caramelised Crostini

Crostini is typically an Italian dish made with grilled or toasted bread. It is ideal for serving as an appetizer and blends well as side dish with soups and steaks.
This versatile recipe makes way for several types of toppings. Though it blends best with tomatoes, herb and cheese e.g. bruschettas. But even thinly sliced sections of vegetables like eggplant, onions, mushrooms, or peppers can be used. Grilling vegetables is the best way to get a fuller taste.

Ingredients:
8 No – Crostini
2 tbsp – Olive oil
4 No – Shallots medium
1 No – Red pepper large
1/4 cup – Pitted black olives chopped Choose from a range of 23 types of olives
1 tbsp – Honey
4 tbsp – Lemon juice
1 tbsp – Basil finely chopped
1/4 cup – Feta cheese
Pepper to taste
Salt to taste

Method:
Prepare a marinade of honey, salt, pepper and basil.
Put crostini on baking sheet and brush the top with oil. Bake in oven until golden brown.
Wash peel and separate each shallot covering.
Arrange the shallots, olives and peppers and pour the prepared marinade.
Roast, stirring once or twice, until the shallots, peppers are brown and the honey begins to caramelise.
Remove and mix the caramelised ingredients with olives, feta cheese and lime juice.
Serve warm.
