Alfredo Sauce


Alfredo Sauce

This sauce is a part of the famous pasta recipe fettuccine alfredo. Basically cheese, butter and heavy cream are combined to form a thick sauce as a coating around the fettuccine pasta. Though having originated in Rome, for Italians the name alfredo is unknown. Nor is the sauce ever prepared separately from the dish.

Ingredients:
2 tbsp - Butter
3/4 cup - Parmesan cheese grated
1/4 cup - Heavy cream
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Nutmeg pinch (optional)


Method:
Melt butter over low heat in a sauce pan.
Whisk cheese and cream and gradually add it.
Keep stirring until the sauce is smooth. Serve.
